What is District Chorus?
A great experience to develop your individual singing ability and to share that ability with students from around DIstrict 10.
Like PIAA athletic district competitions which have team and individual competitions, our Pennsylvania high school music programs have the opportunity for students to individually audition to be selected to represent our high school at the PMEA District Chorus Festival, which if selected then allows them the opportunity to audition for Region, All State, and All National ensembles through a series of further audition experiences.
Students prepare a select piece of music ahead of time through extensive individual and group instruction and then audition at the PMEA District 10 Choral Auditions in October at Parkland High School. A small select number of students are then chosen based upon the auditions, and the PMEA guidelines, to perform in the PMEA District 10 Choral Festival at which time all singers audition for PMEA Region Chorus.
